Knowledge Management is of more and more importance in Forest Industry. Beyond classical approaches of knowledge transfer, new ways of communication are coming up. Community building, new technologies, web-based knowledge exchange, peer-to-peer communication, new ways of integrating experts into knowledge management are opening the evolving field of knowledge management in Forest industry.
Pöyry Forest Industry Oy provides engineering and project implementation services to the pulp and paper industry worldwide. Services are provided throughout the lifecycle of the clients' mills, from project development and implementation to maintenance engineering and performance improvement. The company's competitive strengths include the independence from machine suppliers and contractors, strong technology and industry know-how, proven methods and tools, and unique information management concepts.
This presentation covers our recent knowledge management development projects and discusses experiences. The objectives of our R&D projects are to enhance communication, knowledge sharing, knowledge creation, innovation and learning using ICT based tools and methods. The following topics are covered:

Developing methods, practices and tools for capturing tacit knowledge, like story telling method
